This course introduces students to the principles and practices of crop production with a focus on sustainable, efficient, and climate-resilient farming methods. It explores the biological, environmental, and technological factors that influence crop growth, development, and yield. Learners will gain knowledge on crop classification, soil and water management, planting techniques, pest and weed control, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.

The course combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experiences to enable students to understand and apply modern techniques in field crop production. Special attention is given to major staple and cash crops grown in Kenya and East Africa, promoting food security and agribusiness opportunities.

Animal Production is a cornerstone of sustainable agriculture, focusing on the science and practice of breeding, raising, and managing livestock to meet the growing demands for food, income, and raw materials.
